WK ERRORS - if your are
getting any wkplyr# errors you need to delete all of the wk 4 letter #
files from your FantasyFootball2007/ffl1 folder. For example, if you
are getting an error on wkplyr2.dbf in your FantasyFootball2007/ffl1
folder you will need to delete the wkplyr2.dbf file as well as any
other wk 4 letter #2 files in your ffl1 folder. Make sure that program
is closed when deleting these files. Then open your program and
continue.
YTD ERRORS - if you are receiving
any ytd file errors you will need to copy the ytd files from your
FantasyFootball2007/DatFiles folder and then paste them into your
FantasyFootball2007/ffl1 folder. For example, if you are getting an
error on ytdplyr.dbf you want to copy that file from your
FantasyFootball2007/DatFiles folder and then paste it into your
FantasyFootball2007/ffl1 folder and overwrite the file. Make sure that
program is closed when copying these files. Then open your program
and continue.
YTDTRANS ERROR-
if you get a YTD Trans error just click on Maintenance and Re-index
your Data Files and then continue on.
LOST IDS/PASSWORDS
If you forget or lose your ID and Password for the stat service you can Look it Up by
clicking on the following link Lost ID/Password.
STAT FILE INFORMATION
The stat files are compiled on Monday's before noon (est).
PROGRAM/ROSTER UPDATES
You will get a message when opening your program that you do not have the latest version
and should update. To update just click OK to the message and go through the Update Wizard
or do it later by going to Programs/FantasySports/Fantasy Baseball and run the Update
icon.
* Roster Updates will only update a players team name not his position. In order to change
a player's position look below for CHANGING A PLAYERS POSITION.
DOWNLOADING STAT FILES
You can download stat files directly through the program via our web site. From
the Update Manager go to Import Stats and choose Option 1: Download Stats from Web Site.
Then as long as you are connected to the internet (minimize program and connect if not)
the program will go out and look for the stat file and import it for you.
If using Copy Week Download File: You would only use this option if you already have
downloaded the stat file and have it on your hard drive or a floppy disk. To use this
option just find where it is that you have the file* and then highlight it and click OK
and the file will be run.
* If the file is an .exe file, you must first run the file by double-clicking it and
then closing the DOS window. This will create an fflstat.$ file. This is the file you want
to use when using the Copy Week Download File.
If still unable to download stats check: INTERNET RELATED PROBLEMS
ADDING NEW PLAYERS
If the Program locks up when you are trying to add a new
player just click on Maintenance and ReIndex the Data Files then try
again.
It would be best to try and Update your Roster before
adding New Players or you could possibly get duplicate players. If a player is not on your
roster he most likely will be added in a future roster update. Just follow the
instructions above for Program/Roster Updates. If you can't wait and need
to add a player:
Go to the Franchise Manager and Add/Drop Players. Then click the New Player button and
fill in the Last Name and First Name. Then select the Position and Pro Team and click OK
to save.
ACTIVATING ADDITIONAL POSITIONS
Go to the League Manager and Setup Player Positions. Then find the Positions you wish to
activate and Edit the Positions that you want to use. Then checkmark the Activate Box.
This will activate the positions so they can be drafted. You will also need to Set Up
Point Assignments for these Positions through the League Manager/Set Up Point Assignments
and Modifying.
CHANGING A PLAYERS POSITION
In Football you need to use the Clone Player button in the Franchise Manager
(Add/Drop Players) to change a players position.
For the other sports: go to the Franchise Manager and Add/Drop Players. Highlight the Player that you would
like to change positions and click the Edit Player button. Then go to where the Position
is listed and you can change it. Then click OK to Finish.
SALARIES/SALARY CAP
To set a Salary Cap go to the League Manager/Enter Franchises and Edit a Franchise.
Then in the Salary Cap field enter Salary Cap.
Then Salaries would need to be entered for the players. (By default there are no
salaries). To add Salaries go to the Franchise Manager (or Draft Night) and to Add/Drop
Players. Highlight a Player and hit the Edit Player button and you can go to the Salary
Field and enter a Salary. This will need to be done to all players who you want to have
salaries.
BACKING UP/RESTORING THE PROGRAM
To make a backup of your program click on Maintenance on the Menu Bar and Backup
League. Then choose the drive and directory you would like to back your program up to and
give it a name. Then click OK. If you are backing the program on to floppies you only need
to choose the drive and give the backup file a name. You can also save
the file on your hard drive and email the file (as sometimes there
are problems with the floppy backup).
To restore a backup click on Maintenance and Restore a Backup. Then find where you have
your backup file, highlight it, and click OK. This will restore your backup.
REGISTERING A WEB SITE
To register your league web site you can activate it by going to the Web menu from within
your program and clicking on Create League Web Site. Then the Web Wizard will take you
through the process of Registering your Web Site.
If unable to register a Web Site check: WEB PUBLISHING PROBLEMS
PROXY SERVERS
For proxy servers or fire walls you have to have the servers configured for anonymous
authentication. After you have done this there is a file in your fantasysports folder
called fspiinet.ini. You need to configure this file with your proxy server name and the
bypass section is where you would set the port. But it will not work unless you have
anonymous authentication enabled on the server. You should probably have your
administrator help you out.
OWNER ZONE
You can activate the Owner Zone by going to your Web menu in the Commissioner's program
and selecting Register franchises. If you receive an invalid syntax error message one or
more of your franchises has an invalid character within their names and will need to be
fixed first.
After you have successfully completed that, go back to the Web menu, Owner Zone, and Post
Current Week Lineups. This will activate the Online Franchise Manager, where your league members will be able to access their
rosters and make changes as needed. If you are concerned about security on your online franchise
manager there is an option within each of the franchises where you can enable a password
for your teams.
Unfortunately, there is no lockout feature when game-time starts but
there is a time-date stamp as to
when the lineups were entered. You will have to manually enforce a cutoff time when your
league members should have their weekly lineups entered on the website.
DOWNLOADING WEEKLY LINEUPS
(via Owner Zone)
When you Download the Current Week Lineups through the Commissioner's program from the Web
menu it will ask if you'd like the program to put in the starting lineup
changes for you automatically and then ask if you want a report showing you your league members lineups. You
can print out this report (next to the 100% button there is an icon that looks like a
printer) by clicking on the printer icon.
EXPORTING REPORT FILES
To Export files from the program you need to go into the Report Manager and click on the
Print to File button. In the Selected Path box select where you would like the files to go
(what folder). Then below that select the File Type you would like for the Report. Then
click on OK and it should export your report to a file.
EMAILING ATTACHED MESSAGES
You can send out your emails as an attached file instead of embedding them into the email
itself. When you send out your emails and select who you want to send them to there is an
option on the right hand side that allows you to select attached file or embedded text.
Select attached file and click ok. You can change the format of the attached file by going
up to the Preferences menu and selecting Send Email Attachments As (MS Word, RTF, Text or
HTML).
HOW TO CONNECT USING A CABLE MODEM
Open Internet Options in the Control Panel (Click Start go to Settings then Control
Panel). Click on the Connection Tab and Select "never dial connection" or
"connect through LAN" and close.
Then go into the Commissioner's Football program and click on Preferences on the Menu Bar
and go to Internet Connection and make sure "Dial-Up Networking" is selected.
Then go into the "My Computer" icon on your Desktop and double-click the icon
for Dial-Up Networking and remove any unneeded dial-up connections.
CHANGING YOUR OWN MAIL SERVER
In the Commissioner's Football program on the Menu
Bar click on Preferences and select "Mail Server". Then in the "Enter your
own SMTP Mail Server" box enter your Internet Service Providers (ISP) SMTP outgoing
Mail Server (Contact your ISP if you are not sure what your SMTP is).
If using Internet Explorer, you can find your SMTP Mail Server by
doing the following:
- Open Outlook Express and click on Tools on the Menu Bar
- and select Accounts then Mail tab
- then click Properties button
- then Servers tab and find Outgoing Mail (SMTP)
this is what you will enter in the "Enter your
own SMTP Mail Server:" box under Preferences/Mail Server of the
Fantasy Football Program.
ACCEPTING COOKIES
Open Internet Options in the Control Panel (Click Start go
to Settings then Control Panel). Click on the Security Tab then click on the Custom
Settings Options. Scroll down and enable all options for cookies and then apply changes.
PRINTING ERRORS
When running either the Commissioner or Draft Assistant
software and getting error messages when printing, previewing, emailing or publishing
reports the error messages say things like:
"Error in file links."
"Fields in the report from the file "PLAYER" cannot be linked."
"Fields in the report from the file "PROTEAMS" cannot be linked."
The problem is that the customer has a version of Crystal Reports software on their
computer that is later than the version that our program uses. The Crystal Reports
software is not backwards compatible with its earlier versions, and reports created in
version 6.0 of this product, do not work with later versions of this product.
Solution:
1) Download the following file: crfix.exe
2) Make sure that when running this fix that you do not have our software, Crystal
Reports,
or any software that uses Crystal Reports open.
3) When running the fix: Click the 1st button - "Make Crystal change to run fantasy
software".
4) If successful you should get message that says "Change successful. You may now run
fantasy software."
5) Then click the close button.
6) Try running the reports again. They should now work.
7) If you are using Crystal Reports software or another application that uses Crystal
Reports, you will have to run the crfix.exe and choose the 2nd button - "Undo Crystal
change to run
other software" in order to use these applications. You will then have to repeat
steps 3-6 when you want to run the Fantasy software. (It may be advisable to create a
shortcut on your desktop to crfix.exe in this case, since you will have to repeat this
process when you switch from the software you are running). Just copy the crfix.exe to
desktop.

RUNNING
LEAGUE ON 2 DIFFERENT COMPUTERS

WEB
PUBLISHING PROBLEMS
if you have Windows XP or Norton Anti-Virus you need to
disable the firewall protection in order to Web Publish. (To do this in
Windows XP: click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click
Network Connections. Then double-click the Dial-Up, LAN or High-Speed
Internet Connection that you are using and select Properties. In Properties click on the
Advanced tab and take the check mark out of the box to Protect my
computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer
from the internet and click OK). Then try and Register League or Web

If that does not work see : INTERNET RELATED PROBLEMS
INTERNET RELATED PROBLEMS
(Sending EMAIL, Registering for Web Publishing, Downloading Stats)
Try to ping our site (open a DOS window and type ping www.fantasysports.com)
you should get a response like:
pinging www.fantasysports.com
with 32 bytes of data
reply from 209.8.29.162: bytes 32 etc.
If you get a response of BAD IP Address, then you either don't have a 32
bit client or your ISP
(internet service provider) is blocking ping requests. If this happens
find out from your ISP why you
cannot ping our site.
Check to see if you are using a proxy server:
If using Internet Explorer, open Control Panel/Internet
Options, go to the Connection Tab and see if the Use Proxy Server box is
checked. If it does see PROXY
SERVERS.
If using Netscape, you can find this out from the
edit/preferences menu, expand the Advanced item and then highlight
proxies. If it has automatic of manual proxy configuration check, then
you are using a proxy server. (See PROXY
SERVERS)
If you are using a Proxy Server and cannot get any of the internet
functionality to work, you need to talk to your system administrator to
find out if you are allowed to get to our site. If so, have them help in
setting up using PROXY SERVERS.

ACCESSING 2006
WEB SITES To access your 2006 web site just change the
url from pub.fantasysports/leagues/baseball/ to pub.fantasysports/leagues/foot2006/
and then add the name of your league. For example, if your 2006
web site address was http://pub.fantasysports.com/leagues/football/FantasyFootball/
then change it to
http://pub.fantasysports.com/leagues/foot2006/FantasyFootball/ ILLEGAL
OPERATION (in fspilib1.dll) Some customers are getting this error
(illegal operation) after being in the program for about five minutes. It seems to happen
every five minutes from the time customer opens the program. It does not
matter what part of the program you are in. If this happens close the
program down (which there is no alternative) and then re-open it. Your
information will not be lost but this becomes a bit cumbersome. As soon
as we find a fix for this problem we will post it. Thanks for your
patience.
